I was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah. I learned what hard work was at a young age from a farming and ranching lifestyle. It wasn’t until I was older that I learned the benefits and rewards gained from this hard work that has molded my life and hunting career. Hunts are what you make of them, and if little effort is put in, then, typically, little reward is gained.

I would like to think I have grown as a person and hunter over the course of the last 20 years. In the beginning, all I fixated on was the size of the animal I harvested because I thought that was the measure of what kind of a hunter I was. If the last 20 years have taught me anything, it is that I was trying to measure myself as a hunter based on someone else's perspective and not my own. I have learned to hunt for myself and focus more on the type of hunt I enjoy and less on the trophy potential of the animal the hunt provides. This has allowed me to enjoy all aspects of hunting again and realize that the trophy is in the hunt and memories made and not the rack on the wall.

I love working in an industry that rewards people for their hard work and dedication and feel fortunate for friendships made because of it. Hunting is like life, there are ups and downs. If we visualize and focus on the ups and learn from them and not dwell on the downs, we will be better tomorrow than we are today and will look forward to what the next hunt brings.
