ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter has been operating a camp in the famed Thorofare River in Northwest Wyoming for over 25 years and are confident they can accommodate you to fit your needs and give you the best possible chance at the trophy of your dreams! The camp is located approximately five miles from the Southeast corner of Yellowstone National Park in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. These Thorofare elk hunting trips consists of old school hunting in some of the most magnificent elk country on the planet! All fair chase elk hunting in its purest form!
HUNT DETAILS:
This is a traditional horseback pack-in hunt, with the main camp located 20 miles from the trailhead. From camp, hunting areas are accessed either on horseback or on foot, depending on the terrain and daily hunting plans. These rifle rut hunts take place from September 19 through October 23 and incorporate a variety of hunting techniques, including spot-and-stalk, stand hunting, calling, and still hunting. Early in the season, the focus is on pursuing native elk, while later hunts—weather permitting—target more migratory herds. Each hunt spans eight days: one day riding into camp, six full days of hunting, and one day riding out.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations include tents equipped with cots and wood stoves, ensuring a warm and restful stay. All meals are provided throughout the duration of the hunt, allowing hunters to focus entirely on the experience.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the state draw. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
