ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter established over 30 years ago, is now proudly owned and operated by the founder’s grandson. Specializing in small group trips, their experienced guides either grew up exploring the wilderness or have decades of expertise. Unlike larger operations, they focus on providing personalized, once-in-a-lifetime backcountry experiences, ensuring every guest feels at home in the wilderness. Their guides genuinely care and treat you like family, creating a welcoming and memorable atmosphere. With a dedication to quality over quantity, many guests return year after year to reconnect with their skilled guides and embrace the magic of Yellowstone.
HUNT DETAILS:
These 10-day rut hunts, offered for both archery and rifle, are physically demanding yet incredibly rewarding. Located 30 miles from the trailhead, the camp sits in some of the most remote country in the lower 48. Each morning begins with a fun ritual where guides draw cards to determine hunting grounds, accessed by horseback. Hunters pair with a guide and ride 2-6 hours daily through the breathtaking Teton Wilderness, navigating steep high country, rocky ridges, mountain plateaus, and other remote terrains best explored on foot. The location is made up of incredible elk habitat making ideal for hunters to have opportunity on bulls in the 260-330+ range.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Camps consist of 12 cozy wall tents, offering a comfortable retreat in the heart of the wilderness. After a day of adventure, you'll return to camp to enjoy a hearty meal complete with all the trimmings. Gather around in the dining tent, warmed by a crackling wood stove, and share hunting stories with fellow guests, creating lasting memories. Each evening is a chance to unwind, connect, and recharge for the next day’s journey. The welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful touches ensure you feel right at home, making your time in the backcountry as enjoyable as it is unforgettable.
LICENSE PROCESS:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the draw with a deadline that is historically the end of January. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license with this specific unit taking roughly 5 points to draw. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
