Description

ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter is a full-time, family-run operation with decades of experience in hunting, summer pack trips, and trout fishing. Based in southeastern Wyoming, most hunts take place on private land either owned or exclusively leased by the outfitter. They are also permitted to guide on National Forest, BLM, and State of Wyoming lands, offering a variety of terrain and opportunities for a quality Western hunting experience.

HUNT DETAILS:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter specializes in guided bighorn sheep hunts across both remote backcountry terrain and more accessible draw units, depending on where you draw your tag. With years of experience and in-depth knowledge of sheep country, they consistently guide hunters to mature rams in rugged mountain basins, high ridgelines, and broken canyon country.

For those hunting backcountry units, expect horseback travel, spike camps, and physically demanding conditions. In more accessible units, hunts may be based from a lodge or vehicle-supported camp, offering a more comfortable yet still challenging experience. Whether you're chasing rams deep in wilderness or in lower-elevation terrain, this outfitter tailors the hunt to match your tag, physical ability, and goals. Their long-standing reputation, limited client numbers, and expert guides make this a top-tier choice for your once-in-a-lifetime bighorn sheep hunt.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations for this HFA Endorsed Outfitter are comfortable and well-suited for a quality Western hunting experience. Most hunts include lodging in a ranch house, lodge, or modern cabin located on or near the hunting property, offering a warm, clean place to relax after long days in the field, along with home-cooked meals and a welcoming, family-style atmosphere.

For more remote or physically demanding hunts—such as bighorn sheep—accommodations may also include well-equipped backcountry base camps or lightweight spike camps. These camps are strategically located to provide close access to prime hunting areas and are designed for efficiency and comfort in rugged terrain. Whether you're returning to a hot meal at the lodge or settling into a quiet tent deep in the mountains, this outfitter ensures every detail is in place for a successful and memorable hunt.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
In Wyoming, obtaining a bighorn sheep tag is done through the state’s limited quota draw system, and these tags are among the most coveted in the West. Demand is extremely high, especially for non-residents, who receive a very limited percentage of the total allocations each year.

Wyoming uses a preference point system for bighorn sheep, but unlike deer or antelope, drawing a tag often requires a significant number of points—typically 25+ for non-residents. However, a small portion of tags is allocated through a random draw, giving every applicant at least a slim chance, even without maximum points. The application period generally opens in early January and closes by May 31, with draw results announced in mid-June.

Huntin’ Fool can assist you throughout the application process, helping you navigate the complexities of unit selection, draw odds, and season timing based on your goals and current point level. With expert guidance and a smart strategy, applying for a Wyoming bighorn sheep tag becomes a focused and manageable step toward one of North America’s most sought-after hunts.
