Description

ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter is a full-time, family-run operation with decades of experience in hunting, summer pack trips, and trout fishing. Based in southeastern Wyoming, most hunts take place on private land either owned or exclusively leased by the outfitter. They are also permitted to guide on National Forest, BLM, and State of Wyoming lands, offering a variety of terrain and opportunities for a quality Western hunting experience.

HUNT DETAILS:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter offers high-quality rifle and archery elk hunts in Wyoming’s limited quota Areas 7 and 11, as well as general archery hunts in surrounding National Forest lands. The limited quota hunts take place on a mix of private ranches and adjacent BLM, National Forest, and state lands—areas known for consistently producing trophy-class bulls.

With experienced backcountry guides, proven hunting ground, and reliable horse support, this outfitter provides exceptional opportunities for success. Their elk hunting areas are free of wolves and grizzly bears, making for a safer and more enjoyable experience. They also assist with the application process to help you draw a tag in a unit with strong harvest potential.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations for this HFA Endorsed Outfitter are comfortable and well-suited for a quality Western hunting experience. Most hunts include lodging in a ranch house, lodge, or modern cabin located on or near the hunting property. These accommodations provide a warm, clean place to relax after long days in the field, along with home-cooked meals and a welcoming, family-style atmosphere.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
In Wyoming, obtaining an elk tag can be done through either the general license or the limited quota draw system. Limited quota tags, especially in top-producing trophy areas, are highly sought after and may take several years of preference point accumulation to draw—particularly for non-residents, who receive a limited share of the total tags available.

Wyoming uses a preference point system for non-residents, with many premium units requiring several points to be competitive. However, general elk tags are also available and can be drawn with fewer points or even annually, depending on demand. The application period opens in early January and closes by January 31, with draw results released in May.

Huntin’ Fool can assist with the application process, helping you choose the right hunt area based on your goals, point level, and tag availability. With the right planning and strategy, securing a Wyoming elk tag can set the stage for an unforgettable Western elk hunting experience.
