HUNT DETAILS:
For hunters seeking a true DIY backcountry experience in Wyoming—but who could use a little help getting gear and harvested game in and out of the mountains—this outfitter offers fully supported DIY Drop Camps in Western Wyoming. With experienced packers, reliable horses, and top-quality equipment, hunters can immerse themselves in the rugged terrain while conserving energy for the hunt itself.

They provide transportation and hauling of up to 140 pounds per hunter and provide a lightweight canvas tent with a wood stove for your convenience during your hunt. They will pack in your items, get your tents set up and leave to you your hunt for as long as you choose. When you are ready, they will bring our pack team back in and transport you, your gear, and your harvest back to the trailhead.

DIY Drop Camps are an excellent way to access some of the most remote and game-rich areas in western Wyoming while maintaining the independence of a self-guided hunt. These services are available in Mule Deer Region G and Region H, as well as Elk Areas 89, 90, and 91 in the Greys River and Salt River Ranges.

Region G & H drop-off hunts, in particular, offer outstanding opportunities for dedicated hunters. The outfitter’s pack-in/pack-out service includes a pre-set wall tent and stove, giving hunters the freedom to focus on tracking and harvesting quality bucks. Many clients report success on deer in the 160–180+ class, with the possibility of larger 190"+ bucks, though these are more elusive.

Both archery and rifle hunts are available, offering a wide range of opportunities for various skill levels and preferences. The terrain is stunning yet physically demanding, with elevations between 8,500 and 11,000 feet. For the best experience, hunters should arrive in excellent physical condition, ready to take on the challenges of Wyoming’s remote high country.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
The outfitter will furnish a wall tent and stove for your use. All additional provisions, including food and personal supplies, cots, must be supplied by the client.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the state draw. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
