Description

This HFA Endorsed Outfitter is a family owned and operated outfitter has been in operation since the 70s. They offer fully guided and outfitted Moose, Grizzly Bear, and Caribou hunts. This particular profile outlines their trophy grizzly hunts, which can also be coupled with caribou and/or moose. Typically, grizzly bear tags are acquired through the Alaska state draw tag system, but there are years when they are available over-the-counter as well. Please check with us on grizzly tags and we can verify. Moose tags are also draw tags. Caribou, wolf, and wolverine tags can be purchased over the counter.

This hunt is located in Western Alaska. A 40-minute plane ride from town, your hunt will start at a remote base camp. The majority of grizzly bear hunting takes place from various spike camps throughout the Peninsula. These spike camps increase the odds for success, and they use a fleet of 8-wheel Argos while they search for a grizzly. All of their Argos have enclosed cabs and help protect hunters from the rain and wind. Final stalks can range from a mile to as little as 100 yards.

Hunters should be prepared for rain. Hunters should also be prepared for thick gnats and mosquitoes and should bring bug nets to cover their faces. The area is a true refuge. They try as hard as possible not to leave a footprint. You and your guide will spend days glassing the tundra looking for a bear.

The hunter is responsible for purchasing their hunting license and bear tag, as well as lodging and meals while in town. These bear hunts are also offered as an add on to a caribou or moose hunt. Fall bears are a spot & stalk hunt.
