Description

ABOUT OUTFITTER:
Welcome to the mountains of Northwestern New Mexico—where rugged landscapes, crisp alpine air, and thriving wildlife come together to create one of the West’s most unforgettable hunting experiences. This Endorsed Outfitter delivers world-class elk and mule deer hunts in the heart of Northwestern New Mexico, a region long celebrated for producing trophy-class animals. Family-owned and operated by local ranchers and hunters since the 90's, with deep roots in the area, this operation is built on honesty, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Licensed, insured, and permitted by both the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, the team provides hunters with authentic fair-chase adventures across some of New Mexico’s most productive big-game habitat.

HUNT DETAILS:
Elk hunting in New Mexico is offered through both the state’s draw system and guaranteed landowner tag opportunities. While draw tags in high-demand areas are highly sought after, they also provide some of the best chances to harvest a true trophy bull. For those who prefer a guaranteed spot, landowner tags are available upon request and based on availability.

Hunters will experience diverse terrain, from sub-alpine ridges at 9,500 feet to piñon, sage, and aspen country below 7,000 feet. These hunts employ multiple techniques—glassing and stalking, calling, or setting up on trails and waterholes—always tailored to maximize each client’s opportunity. Bulls ranging from 250–350 class are commonly encountered, providing both challenge and excitement for every hunter who steps into the field. Because elk hunting demands long days of hiking, tracking, and stalking in steep terrain, clients are encouraged to arrive in strong physical condition to ensure the best possible chance of success. Field care is provided to ensure trophies and meat are handled with professionalism. Local taxidermists are recommended, though arrangements can also be made to ship capes and antlers to a hunter’s taxidermist of choice. A mature bull elk typically yields 150–250 pounds of boneless meat, with local processors available to prepare and package game for transport or shipping.

Hunters should plan to arrive the day before their hunt begins and depart the day after it concludes. Backed by generations of local knowledge and a passion for New Mexico’s hunting traditions, this Endorsed Outfitter offers more than just a guided trip—it provides an authentic high-country adventure. With a focus on quality over quantity, clients can expect personalized hunts, comfortable accommodations, home-cooked meals, and the chance to pursue elk and mule deer in one of the most scenic and productive regions of the Southwest. For those chasing the dream of a trophy bull or a mature mule deer in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, there’s no better choice.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
After a long day in the mountains, hunters return to the ranch for a comfortable stay in a 3-bedroom cabin or RV trailers, complete with kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas. Most hunting areas are only minutes away, though certain units may require longer travel times. Meals are home-cooked and hearty—breakfasts, hot dinners, and pack lunches to fuel the day. Hunters can expect freshly baked pastries, hearty entrees, and plenty of snacks to keep energy high from dawn to dusk.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses/tags must be drawn through the big game draw or by way of Landowner tags. Applications for New Mexico’s Non-Resident Outfitter Draw take place each March, offering hunters the chance to secure premium hunts at affordable rates. Guaranteed landowner tags are also available for those who prefer to skip the draw or who were unsuccessful.

This outfitter also has landowner tags each year, so make sure and converse with us about these options.
