Description
Stone sheep is one of the most highly sought-after trophy hunts this outfitter has to offer. The rams have a wide color variation, and a single band can have salt and pepper to almost black rams with light faces. The average age of the sheep has been consistently 10 ½ years old for several years. This outfitter believes in taking the oldest possible rams they can, even if there’s a younger ram in the group that’s a little bigger. This is the best way to keep sheep on the mountain.
All hunts for sheep are 1x1, 14-day excursions, and although most of the sheep hunting is done on horseback, you will still need to hike, so try to be in the best shape you possibly can. All of the sheep hunts are fly-in hunts starting out at one of the outfitter's base camps or high alpine lakes and will be a spike out type hunt in either a wall tent, backpack tent, or a small spike cabin.
