Description
ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter holds an exclusive federal concession on the south slope of the Brooks Range, operating under a special permit from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. These federal concession permits are extremely limited and come with strict guidelines that control the number of each game species that may be harvested within the designated area. These contractual limitations are designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the region’s wildlife populations, allowing game species such as Dall Sheep, Grizzly Bear, Caribou, and Moose to thrive year after year. As a result, hunters can expect a consistently high-quality experience in an untouched, remote wilderness setting.
Because of the limited number of tags and the exceptional quality of this hunting opportunity, this outfitter only offers a small number of hunts each season. These openings are typically booked well in advance. If you're seeking a rare opportunity to hunt in one of Alaska’s most pristine and game-rich environments, this exclusive experience could be exactly what you’re looking for.
HUNT DETAILS:
In the wild expanse of Alaska’s Brooks Range, an endorsed family-run outfitter offers hunters the chance to pursue Dall sheep in one of the most breathtaking and remote corners of North America. This operation is built on a foundation of passion, experience, and a deep love for Alaska’s backcountry, with the entire family involved in delivering unforgettable hunting adventures.
With years of guiding expertise across species such as Dall sheep, moose, grizzly, brown bear, black bear, and mountain goat, this outfitter has dedicated countless hours to mastering the art of fair-chase hunting. Their specialty lies in sheep hunting, where access by Super Cub opens the door to remote country few ever see. The Brooks Range is not renowned for record-breaking giants, but it offers excellent hunting opportunities, rugged landscapes, and the kind of challenge serious mountain hunters crave.
All sheep hunts are conducted backpack-style, meaning clients must carry camp, food, and gear into the high country. Every hunter is paired with an experienced guide, and meat packers are provided when needed to ensure the best chance at success. These hunts are physically and mentally demanding, and preparation is key—but the rewards are immense.
As a true family-run outfitting operation, every detail is handled with care—from meals and logistics to the flying and guiding itself. Hunters will receive a gear list in advance, with meals and essential camp gear provided during the trip. Whether flying into the mountains in a Super Cub or trekking through sheep country with camp on your back, this hunt offers more than a trophy—it delivers the experience of a lifetime in Alaska’s untamed wilderness.
ADDITIONAL SPECIES:
Located on the South slope of the Brooks Range, this area is home to the Porcupine Barren Ground Caribou Herd—one of the few caribou herds in Alaska that is not only stable but actually growing. Current estimates suggest the herd numbers over 250,000 animals, making it one of the largest in North America. Hunters in this region have the rare opportunity to hunt along one of the herd’s primary migration routes, a corridor that sees thousands of animals moving through the landscape during their seasonal journey. Hunters may pursue a caribou and the trophy fee is $6,500.
Arctic Grizzly is also available to harvest on a trophy fee basis. Clients also have the opportunity to expand their adventure. By purchasing a bear tag before the hunt begins, hunters may pursue a grizzly and the trophy fee is $8,500.
Wolves, at this time, require neither a tag nor a trophy fee.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Hunts are based out of a comfortable mountain-style tent camp, providing a practical yet efficient base for your Alaskan adventure. Meals include a mix of freeze-dried options and limited fresh foods flown in at the start of your hunt. While the setup is simple, it is designed to keep you dry, well-rested, and ready for the challenges of the hunt. Every detail is carefully planned to balance comfort and functionality, ensuring you have the energy and focus needed for a successful and unforgettable wilderness experience.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Over-the-counter harvest tickets are available for most areas and species. Your license and tags can be purchased online through the ADFG website at least a month prior to the hunt.
