Description
This outfitter's background started with stalking red deer in the highlands of Scotland, and as their experience grew so did their desire to increase the challenge. The owners are world travelers and have hunted on many continents, so they understand first-hand what it takes to provide the experience as you would expect it to be.
This is an opportunity to hunt in the stunning Scottish Highlands with a focus on Red Stag and Sika Deer. The Red deer rut will normally peak just before the sika in early October with Sika starting to whistle in the middle of the month. October is the most exciting time to be in the Highlands with the roar of the red stags bellowing across the Glens and the high pitched whistle of sika ringing through the forest it is a sportsman’s dream. There are also plenty of roe deer in the area but October is the tail end of the season and it is not the best time to find the biggest bucks but securing a nice representative is very achievable.
Scotland.
Scotland is known for her traditions in hunting, and there is no animal more iconic in the Scottish Highlands than the majestic red stag. Hunts for red deer in Scotland are NOT a trophy hunt. You are hunting for the experience of being in Highland sporting tradition and managing the deer herds, the harsh climate of the highlands mean that the deer do not grow the same massive heads that they do in the lowlands in England. Sika are an introduced species and thrive in numerous locations across the UK. Although Scotland does not throw the biggest heads in the country it certainly has the highest density of sika in the UK. In October during the rut there is certainly a chance of shooting a medal head but it certainly should not be expected.
SEASONS:
