Description
This is the bear hunt every hunter dreams of. This HFA Endorsed Outfitter conducts brown bear hunts on the Alaska Peninsula, which is known for housing some of the largest bears in the world. Their exclusive guide concession offers an exctriely large area for you to pursue the bears, where they have taken some record breaking boars.
These are one-on-one hunts based out of a lodge, where you will take off into one of their many spike camp locations. Their lodge is staffed with full time cooks, and two full time pilots to help their hunters get into their hunting areas. Spike camps have all the amenity to make your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible with stoves, lanterns, cots and plenty of other equipment for your stay.
In odd number years, they offer 10-day camps in the fall. Your camp will be set up near salmon streams, where you will work with your guide to glass up large areas in pursuit of the bear. Bears will most commonly be found near the streams feeding on the plentiful salmon.
On even numbered years, hunts are 11 days in the spring. This is mating season, and bears are just coming out of their dens from the winter, so there is lots of activity as they are looking for vegetations and sprouts, as well as boars looking for their sows. This activity is most commonly happening on the hills and mountains, so you will typically be watching from the bottom up, before making a push to get in a reasonable range for your shot.
After you have harvested your bear, you will pack up from your spike camp and head back to the lodge, where they will help prepare your trophy for transportation.
This one of a kind adventures is something every hunter should have on their list. Brown Bear hunting can be physically and mentally demanding, but there are few trophies as impressive, or as fulfilling as a peninsula brown bear.
