ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter offers premier trophy Dall Sheep hunts in the remote wilderness of the Northwest Territories. With a legacy dating back to 1976, they have been guiding big game hunts across more than 9,000 square miles of pristine, untouched terrain—home to world-class game and unmatched natural beauty.

As one of the few outfitters operating in the Northwest Territories, they hold exclusive rights to guide non-resident hunters in this vast region. This means clients enjoy a truly private hunting experience with no chance of encountering other hunters. With a team of expert guides and access to some of Canada's most remote landscapes, hunters can expect exceptional opportunities to pursue incredible trophies. The quality of animals harvested in this area is second to none.

The outfitter is a seasoned bush pilot with guiding and flying experience in the North since the early 1970s. Utilizing wheeled aircraft, floatplanes, and helicopters, they maintain full logistical control over each hunt—an advantage that ensures a smooth and successful experience for every client.

HUNT DETAILS:
Dall Sheep hunts are the centerpiece of their operation. With decades of experience and careful management of their exclusive hunting area, the outfitter consistently produces top-quality rams for clients. Most Dall Sheep harvested measure between 37 and 39 inches, and it's not uncommon for several rams each season to break the 40-inch mark—a testament to both the quality of the game and the outfitter’s commitment to excellence.

Each hunt begins at the outfitter’s base camp, where hunters meet their guides and prepare for the journey ahead. Non-essential gear is left behind, and hunters are flown by helicopter into some of the most remote and rugged regions of the Mackenzie Mountains. From there, the hunt proceeds on foot, with spike camps established along the route. These camps allow hunters to cover vast terrain without retracing steps, offering fresh opportunities daily and ensuring low hunting pressure across the area.

Physical fitness is strongly encouraged, as the terrain can be demanding. However, hunters ranging from 50 to 70 years old have regularly surprised themselves with their capabilities and success. Mackenzie Mountain Outfitters provides not only expert guidance and world-class sheep hunting, but a truly unforgettable adventure in one of Canada's most remote wilderness regions.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations during the hunt consist of remote spike camps equipped with durable mountain tents designed for comfort and protection in rugged conditions. Hunters stay in the field and enjoy the flexibility of mobile camps, with meals consisting of high-quality freeze-dried options that are lightweight, efficient, and easy to prepare in the backcountry.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses and tags for the hunt can be conveniently purchased over the counter (OTC) prior to the start of the trip. This straightforward process ensures hunters are properly licensed without the need for a draw or lottery system, making preparation for the hunt simple and hassle-free.
