Description

This HFA Endorsed outfitter has been offering Grizzly bear hunts in northwest Alaska since 2005. Hunts are offered in both spring and fall, with both times of year seeing excellent success rates on some truly incredibly bears.

These are back country hunts where you will be flown into a remote location, and then spiking out to track down the bears. Typically, the springtime habits of these bears allows for lots of glassing from distance to spot the bears. You will then be able to make a stalk to close the distance for a shot. Spring is the mating season, so you will generally see lots of boars and sows paired up, with lots of wandering around. These can be very physicaial hunts as you work to close that distance and these hunters should be ready to pack 40+ pounds of weight in there pack while pursuing the bears.

Fall Grizzly hunts take place in the month of September, when the bears are staring to pull up into the bear patches on open hill sides. Similar to spring hunts, these will require a fair amount of physical ability as you will still need to close the gap before taking the shot., however, it is also a possibility to float the river to glass for bears. If you are lucky, you may spot one along the banks, or on the side hill during a day hike. You should always be prepared for the possibility of having to hike to the top of the mountain ridges though. You never know where these bears might be! Fall float hunts can be a little more comfortable, as the boar will allow for more gear as you pursue the bears.

These hunts are excellent for anyone that is looking to notch a tag on a grizzly. Contact Huntin' Fool today and we will get you set up for the adventure of a lifetime.
