ABOUT OUTFITTER:
Since the early 1990's, this outfitter has provided hunters with a premier classic East African hunting experience in Tanzania. This outfitter holds the largest concessions in East Africa, with over 6.1 million acres (more than 25,000 square kilometers) of wild terrain under management, they offer access to a great diversity of species in Tanzania. In this Northern part of Tanzania, they have three (3) different WMA's. This extensive portfolio caters to seasoned hunters, and the diversity of the terrain enables the creation of customized safaris, providing clients access to the best areas for their target species, with careful consideration given to both the land and the client’s preferences.
GUIDES & TEAM:
Trained in the time-honored traditions of East African hunting, the team of professional hunters with this outfitter are more than guides—they are passionate specialists committed to delivering an extraordinary safari experience. Each hunter has worked diligently to earn their place in the industry, having completed demanding apprenticeships under some of the most respected figures in the field. This journey has sharpened their skills and cultivated a deep reverence for both the land and its wildlife.
Each Professional Hunter (PH) on the team brings their own unique set of expertise, enriched by personal insights and specialized knowledge. They have an intimate understanding of the most productive hunting areas and hidden hotspots in each region, developed through years of hands-on experience. In addition, they work alongside their trusted trackers, skilled in reading game trails and interpreting the subtle signs of nature. This combination of expertise, local knowledge, and exceptional tracking ability ensures an unmatched adventure.
What's important is that they also recognize that no two safaris are the same, which is why they personalize each experience to suit individual desires. Every safari is carefully tailored to meet the client's expectations, ensuring a journey that offers unparalleled adventure, wildlife encounters, and memories that will last a lifetime.
HUNT DETAILS:
Located between two of the most renowned wildlife areas in the world, this area in Tanzania lies on the Southern edge of the Mara Serengeti ecosystem and just West of the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, positioning it as one of Tanzania’s most coveted hunting destinations. The region is characterized by a unique blend of acacia and commiphora woodlands, where dry plains are punctuated by vachellia tortilis and xanthophile trees, complemented by permanent springs winding through rocky outcrops. This diverse landscape is home to an impressive array of wildlife, including four of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Cape Buffalo, and Leopard. From December to March, the Great Migration, one of nature's most spectacular events, passes through the area, further enhancing its appeal. Additionally, plains game species like Kudu, Impala, Eland, and Klipspringer contribute to the region's remarkable biodiversity.
This WMA is managed with a strong emphasis on conservation and community development, facilitated through the outfitters’ active anti-poaching initiatives. The area’s management strategy includes a strict quota model, promoting sustainable land use and wildlife management. As concession holders of all hunting blocks, this outfitter is dedicated to managing and conserving these wild areas responsibly and sustainably, ensuring their preservation in their original, untouched state for future generations. Each camp and its associated hunting area are booked exclusively for one client and their party, maximizing the opportunity for success. Their team works closely with clients to plan exceptional adventures, customizing safaris to their preferences and meeting all expectations. Their goal is to create an inspiring and unique safari experience, aligned with the client’s passion for adventure.
This area is also an ancient hunting ground, and it borders the shores of Lake Eyasi, home to one of Tanzania’s oldest hunter-gatherer tribes, the Wahadzabe. Within the hunting area, caves and rocky outcrops feature ancient paintings, some thousands of years old, that document the history of the land and its people. The area experiences a semi-arid climate with warm temperatures and diverse terrain. The landscape combines open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and scattered rocky outcrops, creating the perfect setting for both hunting and wildlife observation. The region’s climate is marked by two distinct seasons: a dry season and a rainy season, each influencing hunting conditions. From late June to October, during the dry season, the vegetation becomes sparse, creating more favorable hunting conditions with pleasant, arid weather. Average temperatures range from 68°F (20°C) to 86°F (30°C), with cooler mornings and evenings. The rainy season, from November to May, brings lush vegetation, increasing the challenge of hunting due to thicker cover but offering a truly exceptional experience with warmer temperatures and higher humidity, interspersed with occasional showers.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
This outfitter offers a range of accommodations, from thatched chalets to spacious, en-suite tented lodgings, all set in picturesque locations. In keeping with the traditions of old East Africa, each camp provides a blend of comfort and luxury, earning the outfitter a well-deserved reputation.
At the heart of each camp is a central dining area where all meals are served, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The tented accommodations are designed for comfort and convenience, being fully insect-proof and extra large, featuring en-suite flush toilets and options for either a bath or shower. Like the thatched chalets, the tents offer stunning views, perfect for enjoying a sundowner while watching the sunset or unwinding in a hammock after a day spent hunting.
Renowned for their minimal human impact and traditional East African camps, this outfitter's hunting concessions are the result of years of dedicated conservation efforts. These efforts have fostered a flourishing game population, making the area a top choice for avid sportsmen. A well-managed balance between sustainable hunting and environmental preservation underscores the outfitter's commitment to responsible wildlife management. Their traditional camps, which blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, offer hunters a comfortable and immersive experience in the heart of Africa's wilderness.
When it comes to meals, they ensure that guests enjoy exceptional cuisine, featuring an abundance of fresh, local fruits and vegetables in a wide variety. The chefs take pride in offering an impressive array of fresh fish, tender game meats, and flavorful wild fowls. To complement the meals, bottled water, soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits are always available to refresh guests after a day in the wilderness.
Each of the camps is fully catered and equipped with modern amenities, including 220-volt electricity, satellite Wi-Fi, daily laundry service, refrigerators/freezers, generators, and appropriate lighting. VHF radios are also provided to maintain daily communication with the head office, ensuring a smooth and comfortable stay.
