Northern BC Horseback Mountain Goat Hunts

This outfitter was originally founded back in the 60’s when the hunting areas were formed in British Columbia. The current owner worked for the original outfitter and built a lasting friendship with one another until it was time for the original outfitter to retire, and that when he sold the area to the current outfitter. This Outfitter takes some phenomenal goats year in and year out. This outfitter comes highly recommended if you have a Mtn. Goat on the hit-list. They have high success ratios and a lot of opportunities to look over trophy Billies. All hunts include a complimentary wolf tag (skinning fees are additional and paid directly to your guide).

The average size harvested is 9.5” with 6” bases. Goats up to 11” with 6.5” bases have been harvested in the past with the oldest one being aged at 13 years! These hunts are a 12 day hunting adventure. They can be done as an add on with their Stone Sheep hunts, or as Mountain Goat only hunts. Mountain Goats are hardy creatures living in rough terrain. It is imperative that hunters are prepared for a physically demanding hunt!

This is a small family run operation located in the remote pristine mountains of Northern British Columbia. The area is only accessible by float plane, or a week long horseback ride. The remote location of the hunting area combined with the skilled guides and horses are an exceptionally talented team, bringing together “old style” hunts season after season. Due to the remoteness of the camps there are only generators to provide power, and the only form of communication is via satellite phone for emergency purposes.

This outfitter only accepts a limited number of hunters each year to ensure that top quality animals are harvested each season. The remote location of the hunting area guarantees that there is very little to no pressure from resident hunters. This, combined with the conservation and preservation of the high quality animals roaming through the area, allows clients to have a highly successful, personalized once in a lifetime hunting experiences.

This outfitters Mtn. Goat horseback hunts are a classic ten day exclusive horseback excursion. Their skilled guides and horses work together to build an exceptional team bringing together these classic old style hunts. Their area offers prime Mtn. Goat country, and the Mtn. Goats found in this area are larger than average.

There is a weight restriction of 250lbs for these horseback hunts, as it is a very physically taxing hunt for both hunters and the horses. They do have lake hunts for moose available for guests who do not meet these restrictions, and/or anyone looking for a less physically demanding hunt.
