Description
For over 25 years, this outfitter has been operating in Newfoundland and has established one of the best operations up there! They offer remote fly-in hunting lodge and ground based lodge moose hunts, woodland caribou hunts, and black bear hunts. This outfitter offers a few different packages for Eastern Canadian Moose, each priced accordingly. There are two different fly-in options and one drive-in option using ATV's and vehicles.
Moose Hunt package #1 is the outfitter's ground base lodge. This is a 5 day hunt from a facility with a bathroom and a wooden structured cabin. Success rate on this hunt is 82% and it's a 2x1 guided hunt. Average bulls range from 25-34 inches. The ground access lodge can offer the fit hunter the adventure of a lifetime, as here they have such a vast area that you can literally hunt on foot every day in different locations. This hunt is not typically a trophy hunt, it is considered a meat hunt. For the hunter looking to harvest a moose, that doesn't care about size, and is less physically fit... this is the moose hunt for you! The moose in this area are antlered bulls and that's that. Their ground access lodge offers moose hunting as good, and it's less physically demanding. These hunts should be considered if you are not in reasonable physical condition.
For the fly-in hunts the moose in these areas ranges from 30"-40” as an average. Each location will produce a couple and maybe more, trophies each year. These hunts offer all amenities of home, yet they do use various spike camps for overnighters away from the main lodges if needed, or desired. Fly-in moose hunts are fairly tough hunts, and one would need to be in reasonable shape to expect excellent results.
Trophy Moose Hunts are offered on a limited basis. These hunts have yielded moose in the range of 43”--59” with the average around 45-52” with the largest one pushing 60". These hunts are rugged and demanding with no cooks or running water. You will have comfortable small cabins or outfitter wall tents with wooden floors as well as wood stoves and a propane stove. Also, generator power is supplied. Truly an Adventure, but not for the faint of heart. *Note that moose in the 59 inch range and are not that common in NL. The largest moose taken on this hunt in 2022 was a giant at 55”. These hunts are very physically demanding and hunters can expect to hike several miles per day.
