New Zealand South Pacific Slam

Some are familiar with a SLAM in the hunting world. Slams are when a hunter can string together a group of species or subspecies kills. This is a unique all-inclusive opportunity to hunt the South and North Islands of New Zealand in pursuit of 12 different trophies over a 10 day period. Upon successful completion on all 12 trophies, you will complete the “NEW ZEALAND SOUTH PACIFIC SLAM!”  

This is one of our premier outfitters that we have hunted with several times in New Zealand. The HFA team has hunted with this outfitter, as well as many of our clients. With over 30 years of experience this they pride themselves on delivering only the best! The outfitter has the entire trip dialed in from the time you arrive, to the time you depart. You are going to experience some of the best big game hunting that New Zealand has to offer. You can rest assured that this outfitter will exceed every expectation!

To successfully complete the "SOUTH PACIFIC SLAM", the animals you will be hunting are the following: Red Stag, Himalayan Tahr, Chamois, Elk/Wapiti, Fallow Deer, Arapawa Ram, Feral Goat, Wild Boar, Feral OX, Sika Deer, Sambar Deer, and Rusa Deer. All of these animals can be hunted with rifle, bow and/or muzzleloader.

You will start off hunting from the outfitter’s lodge located on the South Island. The lodge is spacious and an open floor plan. There is a formal Lounge and TV room were clients can choose to relax and enjoy pre-dinner drinks and snacks before sitting down to a healthy, wholesome New Zealand country style meal in the dining room. The lodge also has wireless internet and a library with an extensive range of hunting and fishing books. They also have washing/drying and ironing facilities available. As well as the lodge accommodation that has 2 guest rooms, they also have 4 newly built chalets, all with private en-suit bathrooms, super king size beds, heat pumps and views to die for. The Trophy/Game room has a bar, pool table, lazer shooting game, sky TV, dvd player and great selection of mounted New Zealand Trophy animals. From the lodge, you will be able to hunt Red Stag, Himalayan Tahr, Chamois, Elk/Wapiti, Fallow Deer, Arapawa Ram, Feral Goat, Wild Boar, and Feral OX.

Upon completing the first 9 of 12 total target animals, you will then travel to the North Island, where you will begin hunting for the final (3) different species of deer which are the Sika Deer, Sambar Deer, and Rusa Deer. To be able to hunt all 12 animals, the hunt dates are best in June and July. This is when Sambar Deer and Rusa Deer have stripped their velvet and are hard antlered and ready to hunt!

This opportunity is all-inclusive, which includes the following: All Butchering Gear, All Camping Equipment, All Cooking Equipment, Ammunition (if needed), Field Preparation of Trophies, License, All Lodging, Meals, Tag(s), Trip Transportation, Trophy Exportation (Logistics and Handling), and Weapon (if needed).
