Description

ABOUT OUTFITTER:
With this HFA Endorsed Outfitter, it’s all about you! They have one goal in mind, and that is to provide their clients with the best there is to offer. They never overbook or oversell their hunts in order to focus on the individual needs, goals, and desires of their clients. Whether you wish to chase antelope on the prairie with a bow, track a big mule deer buck in the cedar breaks, or glass the rough canyons in the late season for a trophy bull elk hunt, this outfitter feels fortunate to have the opportunity to give you, the client, a once in a life-time experience.

HUNT DETAILS:
This New Mexico elk hunt offers opportunities across all weapon types—archery, muzzleloader, and rifle—depending on the season. Known for its high elk densities and potential for trophy-class bulls, New Mexico provides outstanding hunting primarily on public lands, including national forests and BLM areas. This outfitter provides flexible hunt options based on tag type and season structure, ensuring a personalized and efficient experience. Archery hunts typically span more days and coincide with the peak of the rut, while rifle and muzzleloader seasons are shorter but timed for maximum effectiveness. Whether you're after a bugling bull in September or a late-season giant, this hunt delivers quality and opportunity.

Experienced guides lead the hunts, providing expert knowledge of the terrain and elk behavior. They specialize in multiple hunting units and are skilled at helping hunters get within range of a quality bull, regardless of weapon type. Guided hunts are especially valuable for first-time elk hunters or those unfamiliar with the area.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations vary depending on the specific hunt and location. Options may include cabin stays, hotels, lodges, campers, or traditional wall tents. Meals range from home-cooked, ranch-style fare to dining at local restaurants if staying in town.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
The New Mexico elk draw operates as a lottery-style system with no point-based structure—everyone has the same odds each year, regardless of past participation. This means you could draw on your first try, or it could take several years. Up to 6% of tags are allocated to non-residents who apply with a licensed New Mexico outfitter, while only 4% go to non-residents applying on their own. To increase your chances, it's highly recommended to apply through an outfitter.

New Mexico does not offer preference or bonus points, so strategic application is key. There are also no landowner tags available to the public through the draw; all public land elk tags must be applied for through the state system. A non-refundable hunting license must be purchased annually to apply, and this cost is required whether or not you're successful in the draw.

If you’re looking to apply for units that this outfitter guides in, the Huntin’ Fool License Application team can assist with the process—ensuring your application is submitted correctly and giving you the best chance of drawing a quality elk tag.
