ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter understands that “outfitted” hunting experiences can be expensive and feel that you should have a personalized experience with the best opportunity for accomplishing your hunt expectations. Because you spend your hard earned money to hunt with them, they feel it is important for you to have the custom outdoor experience you deserve. They pride themselves on being successful for their hunters and they put in the time and dedication to make your success happen. Whether they are hunting in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico they will work hard for your success. Their camps are small and their hunts are custom tailored to maximize your success. The outfitter is about maximizing opportunities for success, not maximizing the number of hunters that fit into camp. It’s their quality vs quantity approach that sets them apart from other industry experiences.
HUNT DETAILS:
Oryx hunts in New Mexico offer a unique and challenging experience, with opportunities available both on and off range. On-range hunts take place on White Sands Missile Range, where populations are dense and the terrain is wide-open desert—ideal for spotting game at a distance. Off-range hunts cover surrounding BLM and state land, requiring more scouting and glassing, but still offering excellent chances at mature bulls. These are spot-and-stalk style hunts, often involving long-range shooting and careful approaches. With expert guides and well-planned logistics, hunters can expect a high-success, exciting hunt for one of North America’s most striking exotic game animals.
ACCOMMADATIONS:
Accommodations for New Mexico oryx hunts vary depending on hunt location. On-range hunts are Airbnb-based, offering comfortable lodging with modern amenities, full kitchens, and a relaxing space to unwind after a day in the desert. These homes are conveniently located near access points to White Sands Missile Range. Off-range hunts are based out of a well-equipped wall tent camp, set up close to prime hunting areas. The camp provides warm cots, hearty meals, and a classic backcountry atmosphere, allowing hunters to stay close to the action while enjoying a rustic but comfortable experience in the field.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
New Mexico's big game draw operates on a random selection basis without preference or bonus points. Applications are randomly assigned sequence numbers, and licenses are allocated based on these numbers, with a minimum of 84% of licenses awarded to residents, 10% to non-residents applying with an outfitter, and 6% to non-residents applying without an outfitter. Huntin’ Fool’s License Application team will help you apply at the time of application.
