ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This long-time HFA-endorsed outfitter is based in Ely, Nevada, and specializes in guided hunts for trophy mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain lion, and antelope throughout eastern and southern Nevada. Their hunting areas include White Pine, Nye, Elko, Clark, and Lincoln Counties.
From your initial meeting to your safe return home, every aspect of your guided hunt is handled with exceptional service and attention to detail. Once you book a hunt, the outfitter will provide all the necessary information about the area you've drawn, what gear to bring, and how to prepare for the experience.
With their expertise and commitment to quality, you can feel confident that you'll not only take home a trophy Nevada animal, but also enjoy an unforgettable adventure.
HUNT DETAILS:
Sheep hunting in the Nevada desert offers one of the most unique and challenging experiences in the West. This outfitter guides all three bighorn species found in the state—Desert, California, and Rocky Mountain Bighorn. Each hunt includes at least two guides who specialize in the specific unit you’ve drawn, ensuring expert knowledge and support in the field. Due to the intensive scouting and logistics involved, it's highly recommended to book your hunt as early as possible.
Once in the hunting area, the team will employ the spot-and-stalk method—widely regarded as the most effective strategy for harvesting a top-quality ram. The terrain can be steep, rocky, and unforgiving, so physical preparation is crucial for making the most of your opportunity.
Every hunt is led by a licensed, experienced, and personable guide. Many of them, including the outfitter himself, are Nevada natives with a deep connection to the land. They are passionate about what they do and take great pride in helping clients succeed. Each guide is highly knowledgeable about the specific unit you’ll be hunting, bringing local expertise and dedication to every step of your journey.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Depending on the specific hunt, lodging may include either camping or hotel accommodations. If camping is part of the experience, all meals and lodging will be provided. In some cases, staying in a hotel may be recommended or preferred. If so, the outfitter will provide lunch, along with snacks, drinks, and all necessary transportation.
All transportation is included upon your arrival. The team is equipped with four-wheel-drive vehicles, ATVs, and UTVs to navigate the area's road and trail systems efficiently.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
In Nevada, you earn one bonus point per species each year you're unsuccessful in the draw and purchase a hunting license. Points are squared to determine your chances in the draw. The maximum is 32 points per species. Missing two consecutive years means losing all bonus points for that species. Huntin’ Fool’s License Application team will help you apply at the time of application.
