Description
This operation is owned and managed by partners that have over 30 years of experience hunting, guiding and outfitting big game hunts in the north. They offer 10-12 day hunts in the extreme remote areas of the Northwest Territory Arctic.
These Musk ox hunts are conducted on the main land and two remote islands in the Northwest Territories. The hunts are 5 days with near 100% success on mature bulls. Seasoned Inuit guides will take you by snowmobile and Qamutik sleds out on the land for a epic experience. The camps are basic heated wood cabins and the spike camps are insulated heated wall tents. The hunts are 2 on 1 with a Inuit guide and an assistant guide. The hunting is done by traveling by snowmobile looking for small groups of musk ox. Once the herd is located the final stalk is done on foot. The outfitter generally takes several record book bulls each year with both rifle and archery equipment.
Spring hunts are from late February to the end of April. This hunt can be combo with Wolf. A limited number of Fall hunts are also available. These hunts are also 5 day hunts conducted in August and September. For the hunter that doesn’t want the extreme weather this is a good option. Travel will be by ATV and boats and the camps are basic wood cabins and wall tents. Success again is near 100%. On both Spring and Fall hunts a second musk ox can be harvested as long as tags are arranged prior to the hunt. This hunt can be a combo wolf hunt.
