Description
A large portion of the hunters looking for Mountain Goats often gravitate towards Kodiak. Whether it is the chance to combo the hunt with Backtail Deer or just a desire to experience Kodiak, it is a popular request.
This outfit is operated by a Licensed Master Guide who is very hardworking with a track record for success. Hunters throwing in with this crew need to show up with a positive attitude and be ready to earn a big Kodiak billy. With all of the extremes Kodiak is known for, the mountain goats here actually tend to use fairly mild terrain in comparison to the goats on the mainland. With no predators except brown bear, Kodiak goats have expanded to inhabit several areas that would be considered moderate by goat hunter standards. Though goats are never an easy hunt, Kodiak is often a bit less technical.
Hunters can expect to hunt 9-91/2" billies with good mass and big bodies. By October these goats have long hair and look great. The blacktail rut starts in late October and really peaks by the second week of November. Hunters should expect to look over several bucks in the course of the hunt.
Hunters looking for a Kodiak Combo should consider this hunt.
