ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA-endorsed outfitter invites you to experience a true Montana backcountry adventure. Offering guided, fair-chase hunts for elk, mule deer, moose, bighorn sheep, and mountain goat, this operation delivers some of the finest big game opportunities in Big Sky Country. Rifle and archery hunts are also available for cougar, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, and bison.
Backed by a string of well-trained, mountain-savvy horses, this outfitter ensures smooth travel through rugged terrain. All hunts are conducted from remote camps accessible only by foot or horseback, immersing you in the wild beauty of Montana’s backcountry. Each hunter is paired with an experienced professional guide skilled in horsemanship, first aid, and the behavior of local game species—maximizing both safety and success in the field.
HUNT DETAILS:
Most Bighorn Sheep hunts begin with a horseback ride into a remote base camp, followed by daily hikes to glass and navigate historic sheep country. This outfitter hunts two of the few remaining areas in North America where Bighorn Sheep permits are available on an unlimited basis—Montana units 300 and 501.
They offer two hunts annually, both of which have consistently produced one or more rams each year. These areas are exceptionally rugged and demand a high level of physical and mental endurance. If you're in above-average shape and prepared to hunt hard, your odds of success are also above average. This is a true mountain sheep hunt—challenging, rewarding, and steeped in tradition.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Guests can expect a comfortable and welcoming experience in camp. Heated sleeping tents are equipped with cots and foam mattresses, providing a restful retreat after long days in the field. Meals are served family-style, prepared with care, and generous enough to satisfy even the heartiest appetites. The camp cooks take pride in offering delicious, wholesome food that keeps hunters fueled and satisfied.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses must be purchased by May 1 and are guaranteed to all who apply correctly. For assistance with the application process or questions about securing a tag, please contact Huntin’ Fool for expert guidance.
