Mexico Free Range Elk in the Sierra Madre's

This very well could be one of the best private land elk hunting ranches in all of Mexico. This elk hunt is a one-on-one guided experience with an expert local guide to help locate trophy bulls on the 57,000 acre private ranch. The elevation ranges from around 5000 feet to almost 8000 feet in elevation. The terrain consists of rolling hills in the low country that are filled with mainly oak trees, some grassy flats and water holes. As the hills build up to the higher elevations there are large canyons covered with cedar trees and oak trees, along with some juniper and pinon pine mixed with rocky outcroppings and bluffs. The terrain is mostly moderate with some steep areas and canyons that are more extreme. Overall, there are plenty of roads to access most of the hunting country so the ranch can accommodate hunters from all levels of fitness.

The goal of the ranch is to harvest bulls in the (330-inch or better class). Typically you will be seeing 300-inch to 340-inch class bulls, but you have the potential for the opportunity at 350-inch and bigger bulls at any time. The outfitter is confident that they will help you find a bull of a true trophy caliber based on these parameters.

You’ll spend your nights right on the ranch in the private, fully equipped hunting lodge. Each lodge provides hot showers, towels, bedding and a full kitchen for overnight stays. After purchasing the ranch a number of years ago, the new owner installed a high fence area to be used as a breeder operation for elk reintroduction, with the goal in mind to build up a wild herd of elk to hunt free range/fair chase. It is imperative that it is understood that this is NOT a high fence hunt. This is a free range elk hunt in the state of Chihuahua. For going on 10 years now, the ranch has released 2-3 year old elk, both cows and bulls, into the wild to build the numbers up to a sustainable and hunt-able number. Finally, after a lot of work and time, the ranch is now ready to offer trophy free range elk hunts! Please note that this is NOT the “grow them in the high fence and kick them out program”. This is a legitimate free range mountain elk hunt in Chihuahua, Mexico. Any weapon can be used on this hunt. Archery hunters are welcome!
