Notably, the Kuban Tur counts toward both the Ovis and Capra World Slams, making it a highly sought-after trophy among international hunters. Hunters are invited to experience the wild and breathtaking landscapes of Russia and Asia, and to take part in a genuine, fair-chase adventure.

Hunting the Kuban Tur requires extensive horseback riding and significant physical exertion. Prior riding experience is essential. Each day involves navigating high-altitude terrain, glassing hillsides and feeding zones along mountain ridgelines.

Temporary spike camps are strategically placed to focus on specific animals or areas. Tur are typically found in rugged, remote regions at elevations around 9,000 feet. Once a suitable trophy is located, hunters complete the final approach on foot. Strong physical condition is critical for the success and safety of the stalk.

The hunting season runs from August 1 to November 30, offering a broad window of opportunity across varied seasonal conditions.

Due to the high elevation and proximity to glaciers, hunters should prepare for broad daily temperature swings and variable conditions. Afternoon fog is common. Snowfall can begin on upper slopes as early as the first week of September. August to mid-September: Daytime highs: 77–80°F (25–27°C), Nighttime lows: 35–40°F (2–4°C), Mid-September to October: Daytime highs: 50–59°F (10–15°C), Nighttime lows: 15–23°F (-9 to -5°C)

The Kuban (Western) Tur is a prized mountain trophy, with a relatively limited distribution restricted to specific regions of the Caucasus Mountains. This exclusivity, combined with the physical and logistical challenge of the hunt, makes it a true accomplishment in the world of mountain hunting.
