Description
ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter runs a professional, permitted operation within designated areas, offering a wide range of Elk and Deer hunts and hunting packages. As third- and fourth-generation outfitters, they carry on a proud family tradition that began in the early 1950s. More than just guides, they are passionate hunters themselves, dedicated to providing exceptional and affordable hunting experiences in the beautiful Wyoming wilderness. With over 60 years of experience, they bring deep knowledge and a genuine love for the outdoors to every hunt.
HUNT DETAILS:
This outfitter operates in one of the most exclusive mountain goat hunting areas in the state—and even the country. The region supports a healthy population of mountain goats, and they maintain a 100% success rate on their hunts. This is a once-in-a-lifetime tag opportunity for those fortunate enough to draw one. Only two areas in the state are designated for mountain goat hunting, and this operation is located in Area #2.
The goats harvested in this area typically range from 7 to 10 years old, with horn lengths between 9.5 and 10.5 inches. Hunts are conducted over a 5-day period and are physically demanding. Hunters should be prepared for extensive hiking in steep, rugged, high-alpine terrain where mountain goats reside. While challenging, the experience is incredibly rewarding for those up to the task.
PACK-IN HIGH CAMPS: For those looking to hunt the high country, their upper camp offers an ideal base. Accessible only by horseback, the camp is a ten-mile ride in and provides access to outstanding hunting opportunities. It's especially well-suited for hunters who draw a coveted Mountain Goat tag (Area 2).
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Camps are set up with traditional wall tents, each equipped with cots, foam mattresses, and wood stoves to keep things warm and comfortable in the backcountry. The main camp adds a few extra touches, like wood floors in the tents and limited electricity to make things a bit more comfortable without losing the feel of the wilderness. Meals are hearty and home-cooked—hot breakfasts and dinners are served in the cook tent, and hunters take a sack lunch when heading out into the field for the day.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Licenses for all seasons and hunts in Wyoming are allocated through the state draw. Each unit and season require different numbers of preference points to draw a license. Huntin' Fool License Application Service will help you apply at the time of application.
