Description
ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This HFA Endorsed Outfitter offers a drop off moose hunt in Alaska. This is an excellent choice for dedicated DIY hunters looking to hunt the majestic Alaska-Yukon Moose. This is not an easy hunt, as you will be dropped off and left to make this hunt all on your own. It is hard to find a more thrilling or rewarding experience than spending 11 days in the back country of Alaska seeking out one of the most sought after trophies in the world.
HUNT DETAILS:
The non-resident moose season is open from Sept 5-15. Primary hunting techniques are spot and stalk, calling and raking the brush in swamps and marshes. In order to do an unguided moose hunt, you need a minimum of TWO hunters in your group.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
All tents, cots, pads, cook stoves, cooking utensils, lanterns, game bags, food, boat, fuel, and bush flights in and out of the field are included in the base price of the hunt. There is an additional charge of $1,500 for each moose that needs to be transported out of the field.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
Hunters need to purchase their moose tag, hunting license and 14-day fishing license. You no longer need a wolf tag to harvest a wolf.
Alaska Fish and Game has a field judging and butchering video that is required due to the regulations regarding legal moose being over 50 inches or 4 brow tines on one side. The DVD can be obtained or downloaded through the ADF&G website for free.
