Description
This operation is owned and managed by partners that have over 30 years of experience hunting, guiding and outfitting big game hunts in the north. They offer 10-12 day hunts in the extreme remote areas of the Northwest Territory Arctic.
There are opportunities with four Inuit villages to conduct their Polar bear hunts, and they are expanding more every year. The main source for traveling during your hunt is by snowmobiles and sleds to the base camps. By law the travel for the hunt will be by dog teams and sleds. The base camps are basic heated wood cabins and the hunting camps are heated insulated wall tents. The hunts are conducted with 2 guides to each hunter. There is a main Inuit guide and an assistant guide. Their guides are experienced and know the land extremely well. They have hunted the land for many years and know the best areas to find bears. They hunt for male bears with the average size bear ranging between 8’-6” to 10’-6”.
The hunts are scheduled from late February to the end of April. The weather this time of year in the North can be very cold, and it’s not uncommon to see temperatures drop to -25 Fahrenheit. The success rate over the years has been very high, and they expect that to continue. The Polar bear tags are limited, so this hunt takes planning. Please contact our office and we can assist you in planning the perfect trip for you.
*At the present time, Polar bears are non-importable into the United States and Mexico. Your bear hide and skull will need to be shipped to a Canadian taxidermist for storage or final mounting. The outfitter has several Taxidermist they can recommend for this service. The cost of packaging, shipping and storage is the client's responsibility.
There are also options for replication of your trophy. Contact us for more information on this.
