This hunt is offered in two Russian republics: North Ossetia and Dagestan, both located in the rugged terrain of the Caucasus Mountains.

In Dagestan, horses are used to access fly camps, but the final approach is done on foot and may involve steep climbing in rough, high-altitude terrain. Physical fitness is critical to success, and hunters should be prepared for challenging conditions and elevations.

Tur hunting ranks among the most physically demanding and rewarding mountain hunts. The Dagestan (Eastern) Tur, known for its distinctive, smooth, and rounded horns—more curved than those of other Tur species—is a unique and highly coveted trophy.
