Description

This endorsed outfitter offers fully guided and semi guided hunts as well as drop camps for hunts during archery, muzzleloader, early rifle, 1st rifle and 2nd rifle seasons. Unit 76 is considered to be one of Colorado’s best units famous for the quantity and quality of it animals but also for its rugged and remote scenic high country. Their guides know this country and bring a lifetime of experience hunting. They offer a true fair chase hunt, focusing on the experience of the hunt.

They have multiple camp locations and even cabin lodging so that we are ready for all types of weather conditions and all types of hunting conditions. The backcountry camps are situated at about 11,000 feet in a remote, scenic, high mountain valley located about a 2 1/2 hour horseback ride from the trailhead. This brings us closer to the prime hunting areas, which means you can be in a morning shooting position in a matter of minutes from camp. Camps are set up with canvas cook tent with wood burning stove, dining area and recreational area. Hunters stay in 4 person nylon Dome tent that are equipped with cots and deluxe air mattresses making them plenty big enough for 2 hunters and their gear. They provide three full meals with a quick breakfast before first light, sandwiches and snacks for a midday meal while hunting, and a robust, hearty, warm meal for dinner to recharge from a strenuous days hunt. Although they cannot promise absolute success, they do have over 75% “opportunity” rate with their guided hunters with average bulls in the 280"-315" range.

Semi Guided - $3,500 per person:
They will supply all of the gear, food and a cook/camp manger. Hunters will only need to supply sleeping bag, pillow, hunting gear and personal effects. They will provide the hunters with horse transportation into and out of one of their base camps. Hunters will hunt alone and on foot daily from the base camp. Game retrieval for fully field dressed animals from a horse accessible location is part of the service.

Drop Camps - $200 per horse per day:
Hunter(s) supply all of their gear and food, and the outfitter provides horseback transportation for gear and hunter(s) into a mutually agreed upon camp location on a preset date. Hunters will have to have a reliable form of satellite communication to let them know of safety status, harvest status and pick up requirements. The outfitter will then do game retrieval and camp and hunter pack out as required with 24 to 36 hour notice as resources are available.
