Description

This HFA Endorsed Outfitter is deeply passionate about hound hunting, dedicating nearly all of their time and energy to pursuing mountain lions. Based in Nevada—the "Silver State"—they operate in a hunter’s paradise, with more than 80% public land and the highest number of mountain ranges in the lower 48. With over a decade of guiding experience, your success is their top priority.

They’ve built their lives and careers around raising and training some of the finest hounds in the industry. When it comes to mountain lion and cougar hunting, choosing a skilled master guide and true houndsman can make all the difference—and this outfitter fits that bill. Nevada’s rugged and scenic terrain is often underestimated until experienced firsthand. From snow-covered mountains in winter to higher elevations that offer relief from summer heat, the landscape provides both challenge and beauty for serious hunters.

HUNT DETAILS:
Lion hunts begin early each morning by checking pre-scouted roads for fresh tracks. Once a track is found, the hounds are released and the chase begins. While Nevada’s terrain is generally moderate compared to other western states, hunters should still be prepared for hiking in mountainous areas—being in good physical condition is important for a successful experience. Once the lion is treed or bayed, the hunters make their way to the site to determine whether it’s the right cat to harvest.

Mountain lion season in Nevada is open year-round, which sets this outfitter apart from many part-time houndsmen. Spring lion hunting is an excellent option for those who prefer milder weather over snow and cold. During this time, tracking methods shift to checking dusty roads at first light and targeting water sources. Dry ground hunting offers the advantage of full road access and eliminates the challenge of deep snow. While horseback riding can be an option, it's not required to successfully harvest a cat on these hunts.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
These lion hunts are 6 days long and are based out of hotel or Airbnb's in Eureka, NV. This outfitter targets mature lions and has access to hundreds of square miles of public land. Hunters have the option to take a 2nd Mountain Lion on a trophy fee of $3,500.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
