LICENSE INFORMATION:
Idaho allocates elk tags through a combination of general over-the-counter (OTC) licenses and a limited random draw system, with no preference point structure. Controlled hunt applications are typically due in the spring, with exact deadlines depending on the season and weapon type. Tags not drawn in the initial round may be available in a second drawing held in the summer. Huntin' Fool’s License Application team can assist you with navigating the draw process, selecting the right units, and submitting your application. In some cases, outfitter-allocated tags may be available directly through the outfitter when booking a guided elk hunt, offering an alternative path to access high-demand areas.
