Description
This outfitter is a 3rd generation Alaskan and grew up living off the land and learned to hunt, fish, trap, as well as many other wilderness survival skills at a very young age. He possesses vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area and enjoys teaching others what he has learned from a lifetime of living in Alaska. he became a big game guide in 2004 and started his own guiding operation in 2015. He operates near the border of the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve in the winter and spring, hunting bison, grizzly, and black bear . His fall hunts are conducted in the Brooks Range, north of the Arctic circle where we use horses to hunt Dall sheep, moose, and grizzly.
This horseback hunt takes place north of the Arctic circle on the south side of the Brooks range. The use of horses allows the outfit to cover a vast area that would otherwise be unreachable. Hunter will fly into a remote gravel airstrip where your outfitter will meet you with a string of pack horses, load up your gear, and lead you to a rustic yet comfortable basecamp. From the basecamp, you will take horses further into the mountains and set up a spike camp consisting of two tents, a small kitchen, plenty of good food, and an astonishing view of the landscape.
If you would like to experience the Brooks Range and pursue 50-65" moose in the middle of the rut with a chance at a 6-7'+ grizzly, this is your hunt.
