ABOUT OUTFITTER:
This operation is owned and managed by partners that have over 30 years of experience hunting, guiding and outfitting big game hunts in the north. They offer 10-12 day hunts in the extreme remote areas of the Northwest Territory Arctic. For years, these seasoned Arctic hunting professionals have been offering premier big-game expeditions across the Canadian High Arctic, including Polar Bear, Musk Ox, Barren-Ground Grizzly, and Arctic Wolf. These adventures are conducted in close partnership with Inuit communities, working hand-in-hand with local hunters and trappers committees to secure tags and provide knowledgeable guidance.

HUNT DETAILS:
The Atlantic Walrus hunt takes place in small coastal communities throughout Nunavut, Canada. Hunters travel by boat to remote island chains and floating icebergs where bull walrus congregate during the ice-free season. Each trip is limited to two hunters for safety and camaraderie. Running four days from July through October, these hunts consistently deliver exceptional trophy bulls, celebrated for their massive ivory tusks and distinctive Arctic presence.

Expert Local Guidance: Every expedition is led by highly experienced Inuit guides who know walrus habits, sea-ice conditions, and the intricate coastal waterways. Their lifetime of knowledge ensures hunters reach the best locations safely and efficiently, while honoring traditional practices and sustainable harvest methods.

Key Highlights:
Season: July – October
Duration: 4 days of hunting
Group Size: Two hunters per trip
Location: Remote Nunavut islands and floating icebergs
Success Rate: High, with consistent trophy-quality bulls

This Arctic walrus adventure combines breathtaking scenery, exceptional wildlife, and unmatched local expertise—offering hunters a once-in-a-lifetime pursuit of one of North America’s most unique and impressive trophies.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Community Base Lodging: Modest local housing or hotel/guest lodge: Most hunts begin and end in a small Inuit village. Guests usually stay in community-run inns, small hotels, or comfortable local homes converted into guest accommodations. Rooms are heated and include basic furnishings, with shared bathrooms and common dining areas.

Meals: Home-style meals are often included and feature hearty, warm dishes suitable for Arctic conditions. Some outfitters provide a mix of traditional Inuit foods and standard North American fare.

Field Conditions During the Hunt: Day-boat hunts: The walrus hunt itself is conducted by boat each day, returning to the community each evening. Hunters spend long days on the water traveling between remote islands or ice floes but typically sleep indoors each night.

Occasional overnight on the ice or shore: In rare cases where distance or weather makes daily return impractical, guides may establish a temporary spike camp using heated wall tents or cabin-style shelters.

LICENSE INFORMATION:
All required licenses and tags are obtained in advance and are ready upon arrival. These costs are separate from the hunt price, but all permitting and paperwork are fully handled for a smooth, worry-free start.
