ABOUT OUTFITTER:
With this HFA Endorsed Outfitter, it’s all about you! They have one goal in mind, and that is to provide their clients with the best there is to offer. They never overbook or oversell their hunts in order to focus on the individual needs, goals, and desires of their clients. Whether you wish to chase antelope on the prairie with a bow, track a big mule deer buck in the cedar breaks, or glass the rough canyons in the late season for a trophy bull elk hunt, this outfitter feels fortunate to have the opportunity to give you, the client, a once in a life-time experience.
HUNT DETAILS:
This Arizona elk hunt is available for all seasons and weapon types, including archery, muzzleloader, and rifle. Arizona is known for its large, trophy-quality elk, with most hunting taking place on public lands like national forests and state-managed areas. This outfitter offers a variety of hunting options tailored to different seasons and regulations, making for a quality, affordable, and accessible experience. Archery seasons generally allow for more hunting days, while rifle and muzzleloader seasons are typically shorter.
Experienced guides lead the hunts, providing expert knowledge of the terrain and elk behavior. They specialize in multiple hunting units and are skilled at helping hunters get within range of a quality bull, regardless of weapon type. Guided hunts are especially valuable for first-time elk hunters or those unfamiliar with the area.
ARCHERY SEASON:
Arizona’s archery elk season typically begins between September 9th and 14th, depending on where the opening Friday falls on the calendar. The season runs for 14 consecutive days. If your schedule and budget allow, booking the full duration is highly recommended—these highly coveted tags offer one of the most action-packed elk hunts in the West.
This outfitter has maintained an impressive near-100% success rate over the past 15 years. All guides are experienced archery hunters themselves—a strict requirement for guiding with this team. Many have successfully harvested multiple bulls, both personally and with clients. Their expertise is a key asset in helping hunters pursue and secure a trophy archery bull.
RIFLE SEASON:
Late rifle season kicks off the day after Thanksgiving and consistently delivers a high success rate—around 90% in most years. This hunt regularly produces bulls in the 330–340 B&C range, with opportunities for 350+ bulls for those willing to be patient.
MUZZLELOADER SEASON:
Modern muzzleloaders have significantly expanded hunting opportunities, offering extended range and allowing hunters to take game at distances over 300 yards. Arizona provides several muzzleloader hunt options, with seasons typically beginning in mid-October. Early hunts may still catch the tail end of the rut, which usually fades between the second and third hunts. These hunts are known for high success rates, with hunters often spotting over 25 bulls in a week.
The late-season muzzleloader hunt begins in mid-November and offers excellent trophy potential. By this time, the rut is over, and bulls have moved into rugged terrain to browse in bachelor groups. Hunters should be physically prepared, as this hunt involves extensive hiking and glassing in steep canyons.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Accommodations vary depending on the specific hunt and location. Options may include cabin stays, hotels, lodges, campers, or traditional wall tents. Meals range from home-cooked, ranch-style fare to dining at local restaurants if staying in town.
LICENSE INFORMATION:
The Arizona draw is set up as a lottery. Each year that you apply and are not successful you receive a bonus point. As your points grow, so do your odds of drawing. When you are successful you start the process over. Up to 10% of the tags awarded will go to out of state hunters. It is important that you start this process ASAP because hunting Arizona takes planning and preparation for the future. Arizona requires you purchase a hunting license each year to be eligible for the draw. This purchase is non-refundable whether you draw or not. Your points will be accumulated separate for each species applied for. There are no landowner permits available in Arizona only public land tags though the draw. If you need assistance in applying for units that this outfitter guides in, please contact the Huntin' Fool License Application team for further assistance.
