This outfitter is one of Arizona’s most experienced mountain lion hunting outfitter and guide services. Their family has guided countless successful dry ground mountain lion hunts since the late 1960s. Their mountain lion or cougar hunts are done following a pack of extremely determined hound dogs in the mountains of Arizona. We do not rely on snow as our hounds have been bred and trained to follow lions strictly by scent.

The hunter will have the option of hunting from horses and mules, or from 4x4/on foot. Their horses and mules are mountain raised, surefooted, and gentle, and they use them year-round. They have raised and trained their own lion hounds for 50+ years and use them for mountain lion hunting exclusively. If you consider seeing good dog work any part of the lion hunting experience, then this is the hunt for you.

Their success rates are very high, and the experience is second to none. Guaranteed mountain lion hunts are not realistic, and in their opinion a hunt with a guarantee of success with no chance for the animal to escape is not a hunt. This hunt is a true adventure. Their guided mountain lion hunting trips are available September through May and licenses and tags are available over the counter when you get here. Hunters can use centerfire rifles or handguns, archery equipment, or muzzleloaders, and they have a great loaner rifle for those that want to make travel easier.

They have several of Arizona’s very best cougar hunting guides on their team and they can accommodate up to 4 hunters in a group, all with their own guide and pack of dogs. Their 6-day mountain lion hunts include 1 on 1 guide service and food/lodging.

The hunt price is $8,000 per hunter plus $235 for the Arizona hunting license and mountain lion tag. The license and tag are guaranteed available any time. They can also customize your hunt to a different number of days, and AZ residents may break their hunt over multiple shorter trips to make scheduling easier if wanted.
