Mountain caribou are found in the high mountain basins in areas where sheep and mountain goat live. It is a hunt that is very similar to elk hunting but without the rut. The lone bulls with their shaggy white manes are an impressive trophy.
All of this outfitter's hunts are horseback, we use sturdy mountain horses that have been ranch raised and trained. Meals will be a combination of Mountain House (dried food) and fresh food. Any special diets will be accommodated to the best of our ability. This hunt can be a single hunt species or hunted in combination with other species. We start hunting MT Caribou August 15th during this time it is usually as an additional animal with Sheep. Aug 28th is the start of our full combination hunts.
