Expanding on several past successes, Hogue Hunting has released a new folding model of their Expel Scalpel with a companion blade dispenser, as well as an XL model of the Extrak fixed field blade. With the variable needs of the hunter at the forefront of this project, Jim and Scott Bruhns also created an ultra-lightweight, fixed blade knife to conquer the aspects of field dressing that require longer, deeper cuts. The Extrak™ XL is comprised of CPM M4 high vanadium tool steel that allows more time to be spent under the knife and less time sharpening. It weighs 2.3 ounces and also features removable G10 scales with Peel Ply texture. This enables proper gription and gives the user the option to further reduce overall pack weight.
