Product Review | Mathew's Lift X
The 2025 Mathews LIFTTM X brings never before seen levels of tuning and customization to every bowhunter. Featuring Mathews’ patented Limb ShiftTM Technology (LSTTM), the LIFTTM X allows archers to micro-adjust their tune with the simple turn of a wrench, no bow press needed. ARC7 TM Limb Technology delivers the most durable and efficient limbs Mathews has ever created and the all new BONDTM Grip System customizes the point of contact for every shooter.
“Over the years, one of the consistent difficulties I’ve faced in archery has been bow tuning due to being forced to shoot left-handed from an eye accident years ago. Despite my best efforts to refine my grip and experiment with various setups, achieving a perfect tune has been very difficult, leaving me most years saying, ‘It’s good enough.’ Interestingly, others could shoot the exact same bow and produce a flawless bullet hole through paper, while I continued to struggle.
That changed earlier this spring when I received the new Mathews Lift X. I was especially interested in testing the newly released Limb Shift Technology to see whether it would simplify the tuning process. To my surprise, I was achieving near-perfect bullet holes after just a few shots. The micro-adjustability offered by the new limb system made tuning not only easier and faster, but also more precise than any other bow I’ve used. With only a handful of arrows through the Lift X before embarking on a stag hunt in Argentina, I felt a level of confidence in my setup that I had never experienced before.m
The Limb Shift Technology represents a significant leap forward in bow tuning. In previous years, Mathews relied on the Top Hat system, which involved using different sized spacers inside the axle of the cams to adjust the positioning of the top and bottom cams. While effective, this system required the use of a bow press and a fair amount of tech knowledge to implement properly. For the average person or someone without access to a press, it posed a major barrier. With the Lift X, that complexity is eliminated. Tuning is now as straightforward as removing the set screw at the axle end, inserting an Allen wrench, and making micro-adjustments to shift the limb channel left or right. A visual indicator on the back of the limb shows exactly how much adjustment has been made. Most notably, no bow press is required, and both the top and bottom cams can be fine-tuned easily from anywhere.
In terms of setup simplicity and tuning precision, I firmly believe the Mathews Lift X is one of the most advanced and user-friendly bows the company has ever released. For people like myself who have had a difficult time producing a perfect tune, this kind of innovative technology is a game changer.” – Isaiah Joner, Hunt Advisor
